Book - Gumbo Weather

 Adaleigh is craving a big bowl of Mamere's extra-special, super delicious gumbo.  But as every Louisianan worth their hot sauce knows, you just don't make a gumbo in the sweltering summer heat.  The summer sun is for crunchy snoballs and sticky popsicles. Yet Adaleigh's tummy won't take no for an answer. Along with her sausage dog, Andouille, Adaleigh sets out to convince Mamere that only gumbo will hit the spot, not boring summer mainstays such as hamburgers and hot dogs. What will it take for Mamere to bring out the gumbo pot for a bite that warms the body and soul?

As Adaleigh discovers that gumbo is always worth the wait, readers are served a taste of South Louisiana culinary tradition with a side of Cajun French. Adaleigh's lesson ends with a glossary of the Cajun phrases found throughout the story.
